In order to ensure the effective running of the research Centre and help to achieve the vision of the Centre, an organogram has been developed to help in the effective management of the Centre.

Training of postgraduates with expertise in applied biology practice and research

Training of the next generation of scientists within the subregion on modern trends in applied biology

Consultancy services eg Biodiversity assessments, environmental impact assessment, ecosystem services assessment and valuation, etc

Organization of national and international conferences in collaboration with national and international partners in applied biology.

Research on the biology and ecology of neglected tropical diseases, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), emerging infectious diseases as well as other communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The Centre for Research in Applied Biology, CeRAB-UENR was established in August 2020 in response to the need for more focused research output in the Biological Sciences.

The need for the establishment of the Centre was demonstrated in April, 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic was raging in Ghana, exposing the failures in investing in research and development that would put us in readiness for unforeseen environmental and biological hazards.

The University, through the Centre has the expertise, equipment and other logistics which is necessary to answer this call of furtherance in research in Applied Biology. It is anticipated that the center will raise the image of the University high, increase our visibility and help us to indeed impact the country and the world at large.
